AARON MC ELROY - No time. Editions Bessard, 2015. Zine n°25. - Lot 3
AARON MC ELROY - No time. Editions Bessard, 2015. Zine n°25. Copy n°131/300 with an original print signed by the photographer. Perfect condition in its original sleeve. Aaron McElroy's photographs take us on a voyeuristic journey where we are exposed to shots of undressed women often captured in the banality of the domestic environment (whether in the bathroom, on a vintage chair in the semi-obscure living room or among crumpled floral-patterned sheets). McElroy is obviously intrigued by the female body. He tirelessly focuses his camera on skin texture, hair and often looks for ultimately awkward body postures and unusual angels. Some images show us women in moments of their daily lives (undressing or quietly peeing), pushing us into a voyeuristic position. McElroy adds a layer of mystery by never revealing the identity of his subjects when he crops their faces or takes photos from behind. We wonder: who are these women? What is the relationship between the photographer and his models? What emotions are we unaware of? Ex n°131/300 with an original print signed by the photographer. Perfect condition in its original pouch. Some images show us women in moments of their daily lives (casually taking off their clothes or quietly peeing), pushing us into a voyeuristic position. McElroy adds a layer of mystery by never revealing the identities of his subjects as he crops out their faces or shoots from the back. We are left wondering: who are these women? What are the connections between photographer and his models? What are the emotions we are not aware of?
