Alfred Lombard (1884-1973) - The publication of this monograph, followed by the catalog raisonné of Alfred Lombard's painted works, finally offers collectors and enthusiasts of the Provencal painter a reference work. The result of a lengthy survey of his work by Giulia Pentcheff, this book sheds light on Lombard's unprecedented career, from Fauvism to mural decoration. A major figure of modernity in Provence, the painter attempted to instill a new cultural dynamic in the Phocaean city at the beginning of the 20th century, guided by a singular pictorial ideal that could not be attached to a single artistic movement. - Galerie Alexis Pentcheff - 2019
