Peter Rautmann - Delacroix - How do we view the work of Eugè - Lot 23
Peter Rautmann - Delacroix - How do we view the work of Eugène Delacroix, whose 200th anniversary was celebrated in 1998? To answer this question, the author examines the paintings from the angle of their modernity, situating them in their European context. Delacroix's focus on the imagination unleashed the creative force of the individual, opening up entirely new avenues. As Baudelaire wrote, he is the "head of the modern school". - Citadelles & Mazenod - 2018
