Copper Token - Louis XIII La Compagnie des Mousquetaires - S - Lot 166
Copper Token - Louis XIII La Compagnie des Mousquetaires - Sedan 1640 This token is probably unpublished. Listed by Feuardent, it was not illustrated until the 19th century in Revue Numismatique n°12, with a different reverse legend. This example should be associated with the series produced by the Sedan token factory, whose engraver at the time was Daniel Goffin. Although undated, this token was issued in 1640, making it the first and only complete depiction of a musketeer on a token. Feuardent 7973 TTB 4.92 g.
