Donald Duck Retro watch, Ref. 3612.7 from 1999, in white gold, with automatic movement, cal. 4503, on leather strap with white gold GG buckle and mother-of-pearl dial, featuring Donald Duck, holding a baseball bat for the retrograde minute indication on a half railway sector with Arabic numerals, window opening for jumping hour, signed. Sapphire crystal. With jumping hour and retrograde minute functions. Width 34 mm. Very good condition. No box, no papers. Alongside his career as a designer, Gerald Genta created his own brand (in 1982), within which Disney models had and still have a very special place with enthusiasts and collectors around the world. Having been the first to affix the friendly faces of favorite Disney friends to his watches in the 1980s, as creator of his own brand and after acquiring the rights, Gérald Genta has largely associated his creative DNA with Mickey Mouse and other Disney cartoon characters, such as Donald Duck, Mickey, Minnie etc. Often dressed in a variety of costumes or practicing a sporting activity, the characters depicted by Genta fit in perfectly with the watch's function. These watches often feature retrograde hands designed to function like the character's arms.
