FLIPPER Flash Gordon (SOLD BY DESIGN - TO BE REMOVED BY APPO - Lot 10
FLIPPER Flash Gordon (SOLD BY DESIGN - TO BE REMOVED BY APPOINTMENT IN 95).
Bally, released in February 1981. Based on the Flash Gordon film and comics. Illustrations by Kevin O'Connor.
This model features several innovations: it's the first split-level playfield pinball machine, using for the first time a "Squawk & Talk" sound board (i.e. with sound effects and digitized voices). In addition, a stroboscope is integrated into the backbox: a unique light flash between "Flash" and "Gordon". It features three pinball machines, three bumpers, two slingshots and numerous falling targets.
Considered a classic, highly sought-after by collectors for its design, gameplay and innovations.
