SURVEYOR PROGRAM - The program consisted of 7 Surveyor probes (May 30, 1966, to February 20, 1968). Surveyor 1 was the first American probe to land on the Moon. In total, five Surveyor probes landed on the Moon and transmitted some 86,326 images and data from our satellite (Surveyor 1, 3, 5, 6, and 7). However, Surveyor 2 and 4 crashed on the Moon.
