An extremely devastating tornado struck the city the day before the photo was taken (May 10, 1970), and a large portion of the homes was destroyed, although this is not visible to the naked eye in the aerial photograph (Mission 128-B), taken by NASA’s Earth Observation Division at the Manned Spacecraft Center (Houston, Texas).
